Perth’s best cafés

Our list of Perth's best cafés from our 2014 Restaurant Guide.

Greenhouse

Elixir Coffee Specialists (45a, 145 Stirling Hwy, Nedlands, 08 9389 3333) remains a rallying point for caffeine consumption out west, while the prosaically named Standing Room Only (Piccadilly Arcade, Hay St, Perth) is a popular CBD refuelling station.

At Toastface Grillah (Grand Theatre La, Perth, 0409 115 909), the coffees are as well priced as the winning toasted cheese sandwiches, while Lowdown (16a Cloisters Arcade, Perth, 08 9226 3041) keeps on delivering on the value front.

Greenhouse, meanwhile, is still home to the CBD’s most interesting breakfasts. Heading north, No 4 Blake Street, the more casual daytime identity of No 4, has all your breakfast to lunch bases covered.

Shifting our attention to the other side of the tracks at Maylands, baked treats and fun times at Mrs S (178 Whatley Cr, Maylands, 08 9271 6690) and retro-leaning Sherbet (206b Whatley Cr, Maylands, 08 9371 8004) are just two reasons why the ‘hood is on the up.
