Brace your appetites, Australia. Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is back on February 28 for 17 days of food and drink-fuelled good times. Where past festivals have explored the themes of earth and fire, this year it’s all about water with events spanning everything from The World’s Longest Lunch on the banks of the Yarra River to workshops, dinners and talks with some of the world’s most respected seafood chefs.

This year’s highlights? The Langham Melbourne Masterclass featuring the likes of Ángel León from Aponiente in Spain, Christopher Kostow from Californian three-star Meadowood and Rodolfo Guzmán from Chile’s Boragó; the Water Masterclass set on the Bellarine Peninsula including workshops in everything from fly fishing to fish smoking with UK chef Nathan Outlaw, Peter Gilmore of Quay and former Loam chef Aaron Turner; and the long list of collaborative and water-inspired dinners (we’ve got our eye on the Blood is Thicker Than Water event with Matt and Andrew McConnell at Cutler & Co). Get amongst it.
