THE BLACK AXE MANGAL – ISLINGTON
THE BLACK AXE MANGAL – ISLINGTON
“For a more relaxed style of eating I like heading to smaller lesser-known places. Black Axe Mangal is in Islington and it serves gourmet style Turkish char-grilled kebabs, lamb flatbread and soft wood fired bread. Oh and don’t forget the fried chicken wings, whisky sours and the minimal bill.”
AFTERNOON HIGH TEA AT THE KENSINGTON HOTEL
AFTERNOON HIGH TEA AT THE KENSINGTON HOTEL
“We had vanilla and gold jelly, spiced snow ball macaroon and a cheese souffle with roscoe onion pissaladiere with English Breakfast tea. So very British! We ate it in the beautiful drawing room in the hotel with divine mint green velvet chaise lounges and marble tables.”
LA BODEGA NEGRA
LA BODEGA NEGRA
“You don’t really know exactly what you’re getting into when you follow the red neon arrow down the stairs. A sign outsides reads ‘sex shop’, but the Mexican food, vibe and bartenders all make up for the uncertainty when you make it into the basement restaurant.”
PAPER & CUP
PAPER & CUP
“A great not-for-profit coffee shop that gives proceeds back to Spitafields Crypt Trust. The coffee is delicious, the pastries are warm and soft and you feel good handing your money over knowing it’s going to a good cause. Plus, the shopping around East London requires a strong coffee to keep you going.”
COLUMBIA ROAD FLOWER MARKET, SHOREDITCH
COLUMBIA ROAD FLOWER MARKET, SHOREDITCH
“Morning shopping on a Sunday always starts down at the Columbia Road Flower Market in Shoreditch. So many colours, different types of people, smells and sounds. So very East London.”
DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE DINER – SOHO
DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE DINER – SOHO
“I love visiting Soho in London, and Dean Street has some great eats. The team and I went to Dean Street Town House Diner for cocktails (like this Soho Mule, pictured) and a three course meal.”

OLIVES AT SHOREDITCH MARKET ON A SUNDAY
“There are plenty of other things at the Columbia Road Flower Markets other than flowers! We picked up a selection of olives while sipping on mulled wine here.”
